55th Fall Harvest Party Raises Over $297,000
for Houston Bar Foundation

The Houston Bar Association’s 55th Harvest Party raised over $297,000 to benefit the Houston Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the association. The Foundation supports programs such as the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, a provider of pro bono legal services to low-income Houstonians.
The gala event was held November 15th at River Oaks Country Club, with over 1,200 HBA members and guests attending. Randall O. Sorrels of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Matthews & Friend served as chair of the Harvest Party, which was co-sponsored by the Houston Bar Association Auxiliary.
The Houston Bar Foundation is in its 22nd year of service to the community and the legal profession. The Founda-tion’s primary beneficiary is the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, which provides over 23,500 hours of pro bono legal services each year to Houstonians who cannot afford legal representation. The Foundation also funds the Juvenile Justice Mock Trial Program, now it its 30th year of teaching young teens about the legal system.
