56th Harvest Party Raises Nearly
$370,000 for Houston Bar Foundation

The 56th Harvest Party, co-sponsored by the Houston Bar Association, Houston Bar Association Auxiliary and Houston Bar Foundation, raised nearly $370,000.00 in underwriting to benefit the Foundation, the charitable arm of the association. The Foundation supports programs such as the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, which provides pro bono legal services to low-income Houstonians.
The event was held November 14 at the newly remodeled River Oaks Country Club, with over 1,100 HBA members and their guests in attendance. Glenn A. Ballard, Jr., president elect of the Houston Bar Association and a partner at Bracewell & Giuliani, L.L.P., and Bill Kroger, 2005 chair of the Houston Bar Foundation and a partner at Baker Botts L.L.P., served as event co-chairs.
The Houston Bar Foundation is now in its 23rd year of service to the legal community and the profession. The Foundation’s primary beneficiary is the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, which provides thousands of hours of pro bono legal representation each year. The Foundation also funds the Juvenile Justice Mock Trial Program, now in its 31st year of teaching young teens about the justice system.
