‘The Law Of The Jungle’
Night Court 2003 Raises Nearly $30,000 for Houston Bar Foundation

M
ore than 60 of Houston’s finest legal minds explored the law of the jungle in Night Court 2003, the HBA’s all-lawyer, musical comedy revue, held June 19-21. For the first time, the show was produced at The Hobby Center’s Zilkha Theater, where it played three sold-out performances.
In addition to providing a great time for all, the production raised nearly $30,000 for the Houston Bar Foundation. Debra Baker of Connelly•Baker•Wotring•Jackson LLP was executive producer, with Tim Weltin of The Weltin Law Firm as associate producer. Director was Judy Frow of Judy Frow’s Show Business, with musical direction by Jim Benton and Bruce Jamison.
This year’s show took audiences from the depths of the jungle filled with headhunters, big monkeys and dangerous gators, to Houston’s asphalt jungle filled with headhunters, 800-pound gorillas and dangerous litigators. Along the way, audiences were treated to slightly fractured musical numbers based on scenes from Broadway hits like The Lion King, Mama Mia and Chicago.
Mark you calendars now for Night Court 2004, “The Law in Black and White,” set for June 2004 at The Hobby Center. Tickets go on sale March 4.
