19th John J. Eikenburg Law Week Fun Run Raises $45,000
for Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation

The HBA’s 19th Annual John J. Eikenburg Law Week Fun Run raised over $45,000 for The Center Serving Persons with Mental Retardation, bringing the HBA’s total contributions over the lifetime of the race to over a half million dollars at $563,000. The Center makes independent lives possible for developmentally challenged people in the Houston community.
Held March 27th at Sam Houston Park, the Fun Run had over 800 participants in the 8K run, 1-mile walk, and children’s run.
This year’s race directors were Lori G. Aylett of Smith, Murdaugh, Little & Bonham, L.L.P. and M. Scott Michelman of Shook, Hardy & Bacon L.L.P. The Fun Run Committee also included John Black, Hon. Jane Bland, Barbara Callistien, Josh Davis, Tonja De Sloover, Chris DeMeo, Michol Ecklund, Caroline Faubus, Don Fizer, Scott Fletcher, Christine Hollingsworth, Jeff McClure, Shayne Newell, Cynthia Nimmons, Donica Nowotny, Connie Payne, Katrina Price, Tom Radosevich, David Ratchford, Maidie Ryan, John Shepperd, Tom Stilwell, Bob Stokes, James Thompson, Mark Wege and Lenora Wilder. Gwen Koch coordinated the Center’s assistance.
